In 1900, Father Hubert Linckens, a Dutch Missionary of the Sacred Heart, founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Germany. This group of women were to share the charism and spirituality of Father Jules Chevalier, who in 1854 had founded the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart in Issoudun, France. |
The Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (MSC Sisters) sent missionaries to Australia in 1928. Our initial work was at the Salesian College "Rupertswood" in Sunbury, Victoria, where we undertook the domestic management of the College.
As our membership grew, our ministries extended to hospitals, primary schools, homes for the aged and in various fields of pastoral care.
Today we are involved in a variety of ministries, mostly in Victoria. These
